Depending on the production methods, calcium carbonate can be classified into two main forms, each characterized by distinct physical and chemical properties. The most notable differences between precipitated and ground calcium carbonate lie in their pH values, fineness, and particle shapes. Precipitated calcium carbonate typically exhibits a spindle-like shape, while ground calcium carbonate features irregular particles. These variations in particle size and shape contribute to differences in oil absorption capacity and bulk density.
